Embodiment: the natural physical form of humanity.
Humans are embodied beings. Recognizing the body and acknowledging its importance are crucial aspects of daily life.
Everything you do throughout the day is accomplished by your body, through your body, and with your body. You would not exist apart from your body. That’s obvious. But have you actually grasped the significance of your body? For example, have you considered…
- God intricately designed the human body
- The reality of embodiment matters for Christians
- Your body’s condition can impact everyday life
- The body has specific needs that matter for proper functioning
- Our society devalues the body in many ways
These are just a few of the reasons I am blogging about embodiment.
My name is Lainey Greer, and I am a follower of Jesus Christ. So all of my posts will spring from a biblical worldview but may not always contain religious or Christian elements. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Systematic Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. My writing focuses on a theology of the body, particularly on matters of embodiment and body stewardship. Along with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, I am also certified in personal training and nutrition consulting with 15 years of experience. These, combined with a masters degree in leadership and 10 years spent working in the local church, have given me lots of experience that I hope to use to encourage others.
My blogging will cover a wide range of topics typically within the areas of Scripture and Christian doctrine along with exercise, nutrition, and more. If learning more about the body and how to take care of it interests you, then I’d love for you to subscribe!

After all, we await the coming of our Savior and the… Read more

According to the CDC, the leading killer of men and women every year is heart disease. In fact, 1 out of every 4 deaths is due… Read more
A couple things first… Confession – I love lifting and hate cardio. If I could only lift, I would. But cardiovascular work is necessary, and I will post on it in the future. And, let me say, lifting weights does not mean you need to buy a gym membership or become a bodybuilder. Gym access… Read more
